Balance

This year for me has been about one thing - balance.

Parenthood was a complete wake up call & although I've heard from MANY before me on just how life changing it really is, I (quietly) thought I could find a balance within it all as soon as I walked out of the hospital and boy-oh-boy was I wrong!! I know having twins was the game changer so I shouldn't be too hard on myself, yet I am shocked that even after all the advice thrown at me & the endless supply of online information, for the first year after becoming a mum i was really walking around in a haze. (new mums will know exactly what i mean!) I don't know what i would of done without the wonderful support from family & friends, & especially my superman of a husband.

Nowadays I wear motherhood quite easily & comfortably. Of course, some days are better than others & it all came down to that one thing - balance. Once Hubs & I figured out & followed through on a routine that suited all family members, life slowly but surely became easier & it feels like someone has released the valve on that pressure cooker.

I love that I'm able to spend more time on Olive Farm & those creative juices have been a flowing! My latest obsession (aside from Pinterest) has been hand beading. I've been doing so much of it lately that I'm sure it's going to hinder my eyesight. Hubs has to constantly remind me to take breaks & stretch my fingers to avoid RSI haha

In a few weeks I'll be joining forces with a lovely bunch of people to do a much anticipated photo shoot. I'm very excited & if it wasn't for this healthy routine I'm instilling on my life i would be in absolute pieces! so yay for balance!

One of the many beauties I'm currently working on =)

Overtaken by blooms

I finally found my camera charger and was able to take some pics of the many handmade flowers taking over my studio at the moment. I'm creating as many as i can before i lose momentum which is always bound to happen. I've also made this gorgeous turquoise felt rose which will be a new addition to Olive Farm. I'm so excited.... times a ticking.

Moving houses is exciting but stressful. Packing all your personal belongings into boxes, suitcase and well just about anything that will fit your life is hard, especially when you know you'll be unpacking it all only a few days later... well in my case, months!

I swear i have lost precious items in transit and for the life of me i can't find my ipod, tho i know i saw it around the house somewhere. argghhh!

However I am relieved we are living in a house with more space and i love the view from my studio window, even though spring refuses to pay us Perthians a visit. Despite the clouds i took some shots of my new working space and i thought i would share it with you =)

My awesome spice rack which my dad gave me and i now use to
house all my flower embellishments. Thanks dad!

I like to pin my unfinished hair pieces in front of me so when
inspiration hits i can get to work straight away =)
