Wise words from Dory!

Saying I've been busy lately is definitely an understatement!

Not only did I do a big photo shoot a couple of weeks ago, I'm currently fulfilling a mountain of orders & preparing for Perth Wedding Upmarket on the 25th Aug. Not to mention things have also been crazy in my personal life, with my oldest sis & family coming hm from the UAE for a long 4week holiday & my younger sis moving to Japan to teach. It's alarming how many things are happening at once but that's what's happening.

Normally i would hide under my warm blanket & come out when things are more at a pace that I can handle but that is not even an option because firstly I have twins (yes, kids change EVERYTHING!!) & secondly these commitments are just to big to hide from. The only way out is to put my head down, work my butt off & go through the this thing called life.

Lately my mantra has been 'just keep swimming! just keep swimming!' which i sing out loud on the more difficult days & i'm surprised how something so simple can actually get me through my day. Hey whatever works, right?

Good old Pixar! Teaching life lessons to people of all ages =)

Here's a few sneak peeks of the shoot. I can't tell you how amazed I am of my sis who also happens to be the photographer. I hope you love them as much as I do! Visit my Facebook page for updates.

Balance

This year for me has been about one thing - balance.

Parenthood was a complete wake up call & although I've heard from MANY before me on just how life changing it really is, I (quietly) thought I could find a balance within it all as soon as I walked out of the hospital and boy-oh-boy was I wrong!! I know having twins was the game changer so I shouldn't be too hard on myself, yet I am shocked that even after all the advice thrown at me & the endless supply of online information, for the first year after becoming a mum i was really walking around in a haze. (new mums will know exactly what i mean!) I don't know what i would of done without the wonderful support from family & friends, & especially my superman of a husband.

Nowadays I wear motherhood quite easily & comfortably. Of course, some days are better than others & it all came down to that one thing - balance. Once Hubs & I figured out & followed through on a routine that suited all family members, life slowly but surely became easier & it feels like someone has released the valve on that pressure cooker.

I love that I'm able to spend more time on Olive Farm & those creative juices have been a flowing! My latest obsession (aside from Pinterest) has been hand beading. I've been doing so much of it lately that I'm sure it's going to hinder my eyesight. Hubs has to constantly remind me to take breaks & stretch my fingers to avoid RSI haha

In a few weeks I'll be joining forces with a lovely bunch of people to do a much anticipated photo shoot. I'm very excited & if it wasn't for this healthy routine I'm instilling on my life i would be in absolute pieces! so yay for balance!

One of the many beauties I'm currently working on =)
