Update on MUST HAVE pouches

love
A few posts ago i mentioned that i was working on a new project titled 'MUST HAVE' and here are some of the fruits of my labor. It's been fun rummaging through fashion magazines deciding what i'm going to sew next and the pouches weren't as hard to make as i original thought thanks to this TUTORIAL by Anna from Twelve22.
love
I've altered some of the instructions by changing the bottom and a few minor details here and there. I heart these pouches! They're great to use as makeup bags or coin purses and i've even added wrist straps to some of them so you can take them to dinner or for a catchup with the girls.
love
However I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the photos, they don't show the true awesomeness of these pouches haha For the past week Perth has been hit with terrible storms which means minimal sunshine is coming through and since i take most of my photos in natural light its been difficult photographing anything new without the aid of artificial light (boo!). I need to take the photos earlier in the day rather than in the afternoon which i've been doing.
love

I'm hoping to make about 5 more for the Tea Party i'm hosting this weekend which will also be a chance for friends to view & try my products in the comfort of my home, plus i'm serving yummy goodies and hosh-posh tea to satisfy their appetites and hopefully lure them into buying more pieces. Muahahahaha!

Bake or Break baby

I found this site called Bake or Break while causally rummaging through wedding blogs. By far the best dessert site so far and the pictures are oh-so-scrumptious! makes me hungry just looking at them, as pictures of food should. For this recipe go ---> HERE

How smart

Today my friend Am sent me an email about nifty gift ideas for the person who has everything and here are a few of my faves.

BANANA GUARD - Protect Your Banana!

Lock Cup - Anti-Theft Coffee Cup. Are you tired of others stealing your coffee cup? Well now there's a solution. The Lock - Cup has a hole which prevents most people from using it. Only the owner of the cup can use his/hers shaped key to close the hole

I especially like the last one! What a wonderful gift to give someone who's going overseas. Its practical and you can get a laugh outta it too. Simple brilliance if you ask me =)

is it me or do these gifts just make complete sense?

Covet

Saving for a holiday means having to say 'NO!' to every pair of boots I've been eyeing for the past month or so. For a shoe-a-holic, this is torture! So if i can't buy it, I'll just have to make it... or in this case - sew it!

loveHussy boot in electric Lime - Oh yeahhh!

It's the first pouch from the collection I'm planning to create called 'must have!'. I'll be collecting pieces from the latest Instyles and Vogues, put my embroidery skills to the test by sewing them onto canvas pouches, set them up in my etsy store for people in similar situations and *cue trumpets* ta ta ta daaaaaa.... problem solved! You get what you want for only a fraction of the price!

waaaayyy more affordable than the original hehe

Honey, honey

A few days ago i received one of the best gifts ever! A tiny little honey pot in the shape of a bee hive *sigggghhh* okay. okay. Before you spit out your morning coffee with a 'whhhhhaaaaat?!!' let me explain why this gift is so great.

1. My birthday was yonks ago and any gift outta the blue puts a smile on even the grumpiest of grumpy bums.
2. Its the kinda thing i would awe about when i pass in stores but never actually buy, only cos telling myself 'i just gotta have it' doesn't seem enough of a justification... especially to my hubby.
3. My darling gal pal gave it to me =) and because the gift is soooo livvy, it just goes to show how well she knows me!
4. I drink tea with honey religiously and so it's also a practical gift. yes.. practical.
5. It's just so darn cute!

Moments like these makes me all gooey inside knowing there are people out there who think of ME when they go shopping *muahahaha* 1 down, 6 billion to go!

Not the real me

It's been a week since my first market and i'm slowing coming to the realisation that i am not like other bloggers... well not the ones i read anyways. To be honest with you i havent actually been honest with you, not 100%.

As i write my words i am very cautious of what i am saying. I can't be like one of those people who can reveal all on the net. I can't. I'm worried about what you might think of me or God forbid my Dad finds my words and questions me later. Also once i put it all out there i cant take it back. I feel silly saying im going to do something and not do it. So i often find myself avoiding... well... you.

The reason why i do what i do is simply because i love it. Being creative is the most natural thing to me. I never considered my life any other way. I dream of buildings, especially interiors. In fact my favourite thing to do just before i fall asleep is imagine different rooms and slowing designing the interiors, from the floor finishes to the vase on the coffee table. When they announced the new reality show 'Home Made' i almost cried tears of joy haha that is how much i love it.

Doing anything creative gives me such happiness that it fills my heart with purpose. As if God was saying with neon lights in the sky 'THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO DO!!' and i would agree. It only made sense to try and turn the thing i love into a business so i could literally live off it. There has been some hits however also some misses. I guess i'm still trying to find that edge which will satisfy my artsy side and yet also lure people to my products.

I realise now that i must stay committed to my blog as well as my craft, i mean how else will you get to know me and understand my creative process?

I'll try to be better, promise =)

In the night

Hubby's asleep, its almost 2am and i've never been so tired.

Preparing for this fair has been fun however draining. It kinda reminds me of the weeks leading up to my wedding when i would spend countless hours gluing, packing, typing all sorts of things for the big day... ahhh it was actually 3 days(!) I was functioning on an average of 4 hrs of sleep a night during that last week and when the moment arrived i was in such a whirlwind of emotions i don't believe i was able to relax and take it all in. The time went by in a blink of an eye and all of a sudden i was someone's wife.

I'm hoping not to do the same thing come this Sunday. The whole event goes for 4 hrs which is nothing compared to some of the other events. I think a good nights rest the day before and plenty of emergency caffeine fixes the next day should do the trick. Oh and i'll also have my hubby & artsy lil sis (Novi) there to assist me and remind me to breathe in and out of paper bags when the panic comes. **memo to self - get paper bags**

(puffy eyes due to ridiculous amount of crying haha as you do)
